Meet Mark
Mark Green, MD
Psychiatrist, Therapist, Teacher
There’s my education and then there’s my mission: I have a lot of experience and knowledge that I bring to task of helping you. I have learned and taught as faculty at Harvard, Cornell, and Rockefeller Universities and from great teachers within psychiatry, psychology and shamanic traditions. I’ve researched the neurobiology of stress and addictions; lectured on addictions, neuroscience and psychotherapy, run national programs providing evidence based programs and written articles on addictions, psychotherapy and ketamine treatment.
But what drives me is my mission: that you’ll feel held, seen, respected and healed. My passion is connection into the deepest sources of your suffering and flourishing, and helping you thrive, love and be loved.
Mark’s approach
My approach is pragmatic, systematic, and deeply emotional.
I see medications as facilitators of psychotherapeutic change and as one part of addressing the whole way you walk through the world - relationships, sleep, nutrition, awareness…
I’m known as a really good psychopharmacologist, who understands fundamentals, knows all the new tricks but is judicious and collaborative. I work with patients to minimize side effects and streamline their medications, while also encouraging lifestyle changes that support their therapeutic progress.
My main therapeutic approach these days is AEDP , in which I am certified and training as a supervisor. This is an experiential, evocative approach to alter traumatic memories using attachment to reactivate our innate drives to healing and connection. But I use other therapies as needed: CBT and MI and CRAFT… I’m well trained and careful.
As a psychedelic therapist trained by several lineages and traditions, I can leverage medicines to enhance learning and reach beyond our stuck ways of thinking for rapid transformational healing. I have trained hundreds of therapists and doctors in the use of ketamine and psychedelic assisted therapies.
